Harald Haerters teaching emphasizes linear improvisation with a special focus on phrasing, melodic development, developing musical identity and expanding creativity. He teaches a variety of improvisational conceptions that can be used to play over changes, using simple pentatonic modes to highly advanced modal harmony. This can greatly increase the impact of a student’s  soloing and helps to develop an individual musical voice. Harald also has a number of special methods that he utilizes in his teaching.
